Spain’s Classics & Portugal
Trip organized by Collette Vacations.

We flew TAP leaving out of Boston on Tuesday, June 5, at 6:20 PM, arriving in Lisbon on Wednesday, June 6 at 6:05 AM local time.

Day1 – Wednesday - June 6 , 2018
We arrived in Lisbon at 6:05 AM. After getting our luggage and going through customs, we had Collette pick us up and bring us to Hotel Grand Altis.  We arrived at the hotel around 6:45. An hour later we were in our room and rested for awhile. Around 11:45 we met Renato and Biota in the hotel lobby. Mary and Lou arrived a few minutes earlier and stayed in the room resting. The four of us went down Avenida da Liberdade and enjoyed a very nice lunch at "La Durée". We then walked back to the hotel and met Mary and Lou. At 2PM we were met by the driver of the Tuc Tuc tourist vehicle which took us around Alfama's narrow streets. Then, he continued through several sections of new and old Lisbon, leaving us after several hours at Renato and Biota's house. It was a new and very enjoyable way to see Lisbon. The rest of the day was "Family Time", ending with a delicious dinner.

                                                                         Day 2 – Thursday - June 7 , 2018
First Day of the Collette Vacation.
On this day, people going on this trip arrive at different times of the day, check-in at the hotel and have the rest of the day free until the Welcome Dinner. We took advantage of this free time to spend time with Renato and Biota. After meeting us at the hotel, we went to visit the new section of CIAL, then we went to lunch at an excellent restaurant called RABO D'PEIXE. The pictures bellow speak for themselves ... great fresh fish and shellfish. For the first time in many years I ate "lapas" as an appetizer.
